LIQUOR REFERENDUM

ALLIANCE SUCCESS AT N.S.W. ELECTIONS. [Per Press Association— Coty right). Sydney, this day. The annual report of the New South Wales Alliance states that the result of the elections placed the Alliance in a position of political strength hitherto never dreamed of. The Alliance undertook the campaign to obtain sufficient signatures to ensure a return of a majority of members to Parliament in favour of the liquor referendum. An analysis of the new Parliament shows 59 members pledged to the referendum and 32 of these are known to be Prohibitionists and probably more.
