FARMERS’ FREEZING CO.

(To the Editor). Sir —it will soon be six months since’the Waitaki Farmers’ Freezing Company had its annual meeting. At that meeting the then Chairman Mr M. J. Corrigan, promised that there would be no hardships inflicted on any shareholder for six months as everything was postponed . till that date. Now, what do we find) That the Company has’taken some of its ’shareholders to Court and got judgment, which forces them to pay up their calls. At the same annual meeting we elected three directors, who were returned pledged- to bring the Company into liquidation. These directors were Messrs Preston, Trotter. and Hamilton. Sir, I would like to ask those gentlemen why they have not kept their promise. They have it in their power to call a meeting of shareholders at any time, but they have not flone so. This is perhaps not to be wondered at, as they have admitted at a meeting in Oamaru that they did not know what they were doing when they were taking up their shares, and it appears they do not know now as directors. I say, Sir, that it is up to those gentlemen to either keep up to their promise or resign from the directorate, as if the Company is intended to carry on we would like to be able to elect directors who would know what they were doing. —I am, etc., A SHAREHOLDER.
