AUCKLAND WOOL SALE. ADVANCED RRICES. Per Press Association —Copyright. . Auckland, May 16. The fourth and. final wool sale for the season was hpld to-day, 2988 bales being offered. There was a full attendance of buyers, and competitition was extremely keen. Bidding was spirited from, the opening, and prices for all wools showed a substantial advance compared with the March sale. The most pronounced in-
■ crease was in lambs, which showed an advance of lid to 2d. Medium and coarse crossbred, which constituted the bulk of the catalogue, showed an increase of lid; inferior crossbred Id; fine crossbred id; pieces id to 2d. The wool was somewhat uneven in quality, and included a large proportion of seedy and inferior, though some bright good quality clips were included. The offerings could be classed as of average qual- | ity for a final sals. Of the total off- | ering of 2988 bales, 98 per cent, was I -sold, most of the wool being for over | seas buyers. The following is the range of prices, the March figures being given in parenthesis:—Average halfbred, 12d to 15d (12d to 13d); average crossbred, B|d to 9£d (8d to 9d); medium crossbred super, 9Jd to IOJd (B|d to 9)d); average, 7Jd to 9d (6d to 8d) ; inferior, 5d to sid (4Jd to 5Jd); coarse crossbred, average 4id to 6d (4d to s|d); inferior, 4d to 5d (3id to 4d); lambs, fine, 9d to 10id (71d to 8Jd); medium 6d to 8d (sd. to 6id); seedy and inferior, 4d to sld (3d to 44d); bellies and piece.-, crossbred, good super, 5Jd to 6jd (5d to 6d); low medium, 2ld to 3W (2d to 3d); crutehS ; 2 l d /z° 4M (3d t 0 4id^; lid to 3d (id to lid).
