RIFLE SHOOTING.
OAMARU v. GLENAVY AND PAPAKAIO. a A match was fired on Saturday ternoon between a combined teat,, from the Papakaio and Glenavy Rif’' Clubs and two teams from the Oanß aru Club, resulting in a win for tiffl Oamaru B team by the narrow mar™ gin of seven points. The conditions oil [ the match were seven shots at 501 ' | yards and 10 shots at 600 yardgß the 600 yards being fired first in or® der to have the advantage of gooi™ light at the longer range. Owing fcS the fog the Oamaru A team weng unable to complete the shoot, onl *r eight men finishing. The totals fori the first eight men of the three teamsA were: Oamaru B, 575; Combindl Team, 699; Oamaru A team, 569. |. The shooting on the whole was! not first-class, but several good! scores were registered. Riflemarj Henderson and Rifleman Mosley were! to the fore with the totals of 77 andi 76 respectively, and several of thtg younger shots put up a good per l formance, Rifleman Andrews, oil Glenavy Club, and Riflemen Lee, Les-1 lie, and Miller, of the Oamaru Club,? getting 72 or over.
