THE TURCO-GREEK TROUBLE.
London, yesterday. The Council decided the time has not arrived to mediate between the Turks and Greeks. The Allies declared their neutrality, emphasising that the belligerents must not receive arms, men, or credits. Mr Lloyd George siad that conditions had changed. The Sevres Treaty had been torn up by the Turks, and it was obvious that the Greeks were entitled to assume the Treaty had ceased to exist. He thought that M. Briand’s dictum that the victors should get the benefit of any doubtful point applied to the present situation.
