FORESTRY.

The regular fortnightly meeting of Court Foresters’ Pride, No. 6073, A.0.F., was held in the Foresters’ Hall, High-Street, on Tuesday night, Bro. Myles McDonald, C.R., presiding over a fair attendance of members. The sick officers reported two of the brethren on the sick funds, one of whom being in hospital, in the North Island, and had undergone 9 operations. He wrote in his usual cheerful manner hoping that before long he would be well enough to return to Waimate and resume his labours here. The brethren requested that a letter of sympathy be sent to their comrade with an earnest wish that he would soon be restored to health and strength. After correspondence had been dealt with, and accounts passed for payment, the Court was closed in due and ancient form. During the meeting one new member was introduced and initiated into the Court and the Order by the CJI., assisted by his officers and Bro. P. Grant, P.D.C.R. At the close of tho business routine a friendly game of cards was played by the married men versus single, the former winning after a very close contest. The second round is to be played at a later date.
