THE SECOND PHASE. (Per Pre.se Association—Copyright). LONDON, August 9. The second phase of the Greek offensive in Asia Minor has begun. It commenced with an attack on the north and left. The Turks were outnumbered, and are retiring. The struggle promises to be long and bloody. The Greeks’ task is becoming more difficult as they advance. Their losses in the late fighting are unknown, but are probably fairly equal on both sides. Turkish deserters are constantly surrendering. COAST BOMBARDMENT. Reuter’s Telegrams. LONDON, August 9. In consequence of Turkish attacks on foreigners on tho Asia Minor coast Greek warships bombarded Trebizond, Samsun, and other ports. The effect is unknown.
