WAIMATE’s DRAINAGE.

TO COMPLETE THE BOROUGH. PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS CALLED. Plans for the completion of the Borough’s drainage scheme will be called for shortly, decided the Borough Council last night. Th eresolution was suggested by Cr. Evans, who pointed out that the work of taking the levels would take Some time and should be put in hand sufficiently before it was desired to get ahead with the work.

Previously Cr. Evans had reported that with the Town Clerk he had met the Health Officer (Dr, T. Fletcher Telford) and had supplied.him in the absence of the Mayor,' with information required, although a certain amount had still to be sent on. Dr. Telford had also been taken to inspect the septc itank, where he had expresed himself as much and the very fine manner in which it had been carried out. The work the Health Officer had stated, was well constructed .and should be satisfastory. “I think there is every possibility of the Council getting authority for that loan,” concluded Mr Evans. “The matter will be dealt with by the Board of Health, yet, but Dr. Telford is quite confident that it wit be satisfactory.”
