Sudden Death at Waimate.
; There has been quite an epidemic of sudden deaths in the district lately. A very sad * case occurred on Tuesday | when Mrs £>. Mcßratney, of -Hook Bush', died suddenly' in the afternoon.* Some time ago Mrs Mcßratney had her leg broken in trying to stop a horse that had bolted with a trap,"and she was in the hospital a good while, being just out lately. Last week her infant child, a week old, was buried, and now .the mother, too, has passed away. ■" '* ' An inquest was held at the Hook ypsterday before Mr Milsbos, J.P., acting coroner, and a jury of sixj "Messrs Hertßlett,. Dunn, T. Englebrecht, B. .'Cooper, H. Ruddenklau and James Pogarty.
