SOLDIERS' SONOS.
" Musical Opinion " says :— Ib appears thafe somebody in South Africa made investigations as to the songs actually sung by soldiers and sailors in war time. Two or three mentioned had no particular meaning, just a sort of letting off steam ; but it was otherwise in one instance. When the bluejackets were on their way with the 4.7 gun their song was " Then up we came with our little Jot." Really the notion is too delightful for worda : it can. only be felt.
