Tun Star Cycling Club evidently intends to have a successful conceit on the 24th, judging by prepaiations. A splendid audience gieefceT the Jubiloa Singeis at the Oddfellows' Hall last night. Those who were there need no words of ouis to emphasise the excellence of the enteitainment, and no woids can ghe those who were not theie any fan idea of what they missed. To people who have heaid the vaiious companies of jubilee singeis, who have fiom time to time during the past qnaitei of a contuiv visited Gieat Butain, and in later yeais these colonies, it will be sufficient to say that Mr M'Adoo's Company is infeuor to none of its piedeoessois. Theie is still unconventional entrance, the grouping round the organ, and the evident enjoyment of the singing bv the membeis of the company themselves. Thoie was the same wondeiful variety and rendeiing of all shades of power and foice from the softest piano to the loudest foi to ehaiacteilstic of " them inbilees " as Toddy and Budgie called them. The conceit opened in the okltime manner with " Steal away to Jesus," followed bv " The Loid's Prayer," sung in the inimitable jubilee style. The fiist of the programme consisted of lubilee melodies and plantation songs, and the second part was i), secular conceit. It was rather a jar to one's ideas of the fitness of things to see " Ten Minute's Fun" with Mr Jeuy Mills, and a juggling enteitainment by " The Only Jalvan" on a '• Jubilee" piogiamme, but the nature and excellence of these items makes them fit well and weie evidently enjoyed by the audience. E\eryitem o'n'the progiamme was encoied, and in eveiy instance the demand was complied with. We cannot in the present notice paiticul ari^e the items, but we may say that the lendeiing of the chorus "Ring Them Bells must have been a suipiise to all who have not heard it befoie. The imitation of bells was so perfect that one could have been deceived into believing that bells were actually being chimed. The company pei forms again this evening, giving an enthe change of progiamme. and our advice to all is " Go."
