Last evening she was found lying unconscious on the Hour al home with a tin containing patent fly killer heside her. ft is presumed that, she ate some of the contents. A NA It HOW ESCAPE. WELLINGTON, Nov ‘ill.-- The keeper of the hulk Solgran had a narrow e>eapv to-day. He was coming ashore in the hulk boat when a heavy sea capsized the little craft. His plight was noticed hy those aboard another hulk and a boat picked the man n.l just as a couple of harbour inns appeared on the scene. ALLEGED THEFT OF TRCST .MONEYS. DUNEDIN, Nov. 20.—The Presbyterian Assembly this morning further considered the fpicstion of Foreign Missions, when ihe following motions were carried: ‘‘That the rebuilding of the New Hebrides hospital be postponed daring the war”; “That Dr. Bowie remain In New Zealand for a year”; “That the Church maintain its present mission, work and send an ad. ditionnl educational missionary to China”: and “That the Committee Imvo discretionary powers n s to sending a deputation to the East.”
