This afternoon a single middle-aged man named Maskew, residing with hs father in Willis Street, deliberately cut his arm in five places with a tomahawk. He was removed to the hospital. Although his wounds are severe, it is not thought that they will prove of a dangerous nature.

AUCKLAND, June 21

The motor car accident which occurred on the Rcmueva road on March Sth as tho result of which Mrs Amelia Prouso was killed, and Mrs Jordon, wife of Canon Jordon, was seriously injured, had its sequel in the Police Court to-day, when the chaffeur, Garnett Campbell, appeared on a charge of manslaughter. Defendant reserved his defence and was committed for trial.
