STRANGE MESSAGE PROM THE NORTH [BT TELEORAPII—PER PI! ESS ASSOCIATION. J NEW YORK, Juno 17. A fanner named Thomas, living in Sacramento, California, declares ” ho has found a wild goose hearing the legend “At North Polo, Juno 24th, 1896, Major Andree.” The story is not confirmed.
[Major Andree attempted to reach the North Pole by means of a lanm balloon. Ho said from Spitbavcn and was never hoard of again, though some reports reached civilisation that ho was held captive by the Eskimo.]
