COST OF LIVING COMMISSION.
— FURTHER EVIDENCE TAKEN. [B7 TELEGRAPH— PER PRESS ASSOCIATION 1 ' CHRISTCHURCH, June 17. The Cost of Living Commission this morning heard evidence from Tbo manager of a furniture warehouse, who arrived lately from Adelaide. He said that housekeeping in New Zealand cost ton per cent more than in Australia. Groceries, fuel, clothing, meat, vegetables and fruit were dearer, and milk and light about tbo same. In his experience working men were furnishing on a better scale tbar a decade ago. A representative of the Drivers’ Ufiion gave evidence chiefly regarding wages 'and conditions of work.
