ROBBERY AT BLACKBALL

DYNAMITARDS AT WORK. CO-OPERATIVE STORES’ SAFE. BLOWN UP. GREYMOUTH, June 17. A daring robbery took place at Blackball during Saturday night or csrly on Sunday morning. From particulars to hand it would appear that the burglar or burglars, entered the Blackball Co-operative Stores, and removed the safe, which was blown open with the use of dynamite and about £lO or £l2 i„ cash stolen. Residents report having heard an unusual noise between 3 and 4 a.ra., on Sunday morning, and, being a rough some thought the noise was duo to flyjng sheets of iron, or some other damage caused by tho prevailing hurricane. statod that there was upwards of £l4O n, the safe altogether, and it is believed that the robbers were interrupted in their nefarious work as aheady srated the amount taken is reported to be between £lO and £l2 and the balance and other documents on a small shelf in the safe, was left untouched.
