Dr. Robert Bell, an exponent of a system of treating cancer by diet without operation, has been awarded £2OOO damages, also costs, in his action for libel against the British Medical Association and. Dr. E. F. Bashford, principal of tho Imperial Cancer Research Institute, for alleging in the British Medical Journal that Dr. Bell
was a quack. Many leading doctors gave evidence, mostly disagreeing with Dr. Bell’s system, but stating that it was worthy of cosideration.
