SYDNEY, Juno 11.—The coasting steamer Timaru, from Clarence River ti Brisbane, sprang n leak anchored off tlie shore at Southport, near Tweed river. A boat, with eight of the crew aboard, capsized in attempting land and two seamen named Murray ami Liiliodale were drowned. Tic? captain and the balance of the crow arc aboard the steamer and assistance is beiiYr sent. The sea is rough. Murray, . who was drowned, was a wellknow nsawmillcr and pioneer in the ■ timber trade with New Zealand. SYDNEY, Juno- W. Tlie I imam’s cargo is of timber i-.nd farm produce. She sprang a leak i» tlie heavy weather on Saturday night and was unable to cope with the water which extinguished the fires. Me.-i iitinm they jettonised some of tlie cargo and ran inshore and anchored, and managed to chock the leak. When the boat capsized, a youth named Stephens, swam to their assistance at great risk and helped tiic stmgglws ashore.in an exhausted condition. The Captain, two engineers and five of tho crew arc still aboard and y. sterday were short of provisions. Assistance has been sent.
