ROSS BOROUGH COUNCIL.
A meeting of the Ross Borough Council was held in the Council Chambers on Monday evening at 7.30 p.m. Present;— Councillors Osmers, Peebles, Currie, Jones and Linstrom. In the absense of the Mayor, Cr Osmers was voted to the chair. The previous minutes were read and confirmed. The outward correspondence was approved. Inward Correspondence. From Mr . Bruce, apologising] for his unavoidable absence from meeting. —Received. From Secretary Charitable Aid Board, 'stating a Conference was being held in Hokitika on Thursday nest to consider the best methods to adopt to reduce the expenditure in connection with Charitable Aid matters.— Received. Cr. Osmers was appointed to represent the Ross Borough. From Mr D. J. Evans, Secretary of the Railway League, asking the support of this Council in their endeavour to have (a Railway constructed into Knmara.—Received.
