POLLARD’S PICTURES.
One of the most sensational films yet known in tho history of motion pictures, will be screened by Mr. Pollard at the Princess Theatre to-morrow' night. It is entitled “ Arson at Sea,” and it has been described as “ one big thrill.” It is the old story of the coffin ship, tho story being as follows: “Saunders heavily insures tho Johanna,” and bribes Vchloff to sink her whilst on a voyage At sea, Tigcn, the mate,
discovers the fact existing between Sunders and Verhoff. Tho latter to prevent the young man from saying anything, locks him in his cabin and fire? the ship. Tijon bursts out, but too late, and the last that is seen of him is the figure of a man in flames leaping into the sea. Verhoff receives his bribe, but soon dies haunted by Tijen.”
WESTLAND OPERA HOUSE. Thq strongest programme ever to bo presented in Hokitika will he screened on Friday by tho Mascot Bu graph Picture Company. The programme contains no less than four great star pictures. “Tho Turnstile” is the latest success by tho Reliance Company. “Sister’s Love” is the -greatest of all domestic romances. "His Guardian Angel” is brimful of love and humour, and fetches the audience to a state of pity and tears. “Romance of Wall Street,” is a picture which takes yon into tho heart of the world’s greatest finance centre, whore fortunes are quickly lost and won.
