ADDINGTON LIVE STOCK MARKET.

At the Addington Live Stock Market on Wednesday the entries of stock were .somewhat smaller than of late in consequence of the break in the weather, and there was a good demand for almost ail classes. Store sheep sold well, fat lambs were very firm, there was a sharp rise in fat sheep, and fat cattle sold rather better. Fat pigs were easier in consequence of a largo yarding., STORE SHEEP. The offering of store sheep was much below the numbers offered for a considerable time past. Ewes and wethers made up the principal portion, there being but a few pens of lambs. Chatham Island sheep were well represented, but the class of sheep offered generally was chiefly medium, there being nothing special on offer. There v. as a good sale at the previous week’s rates, wethers if anything being a shade dearer. The range of prices was:—Forward four and six-tooth wethers 14s 6d to 15s Bd, two-tooths 12s 6d to 13s 6d and up to 15s for a very forward line, small two and four-tooth owes 12s to 13s 3d, good six and eighttooth 13s 3d to 14s fld, full and failing mouths 9s 9d to 12s, aged 8s to 9s. FAT LAMBS. The yarding of fat lambs totalled 6307, and included some very good lines of well-finished lambs. There was a keen demand on tho part of the export buyers, and prices wore very firm. Tegs made 17s 6d to 19s 9d, extra to 22s 3d, ordinary freezing weights 14s Cl to 17s, lighter 12s 6d to 14s. FAT SHEEP. Tho yarding of fat sheep was a fairly largo one, tho greater proportion being ewes. Among the wethers were some exceptionally good lines. There was a keen demand on the part of export buyers for freezing sheep of all classes, the market being a contrast to the duller sale last week. There was an advance in prices of Is to 2s per head, and in some cases a rise was even greater in wethers, as compared with last week. The range of prices was:—Prime wethers 18s to 21s Gd, extra to 23s 4d, others Ms Id to 17s Gd; prime ewes 14s Cd to 19s 4d, extra t) 21s, others 10s lOd to 14s, me’inn ewes 8s 4d. EAT CATTLE. The yarding of fat cattle totalled 21G head, and the quality was not <ci.al to last week. The sale was drill, Int on a whole prices showed a little improvement, beef being equal to 22s to 2Gs l>er 1001b. Steers made £7 17s Gd to £ll 10s, and extra to £l3 10s, heifers £G to £9 10s, and cows £5 15s to £9 15s. Veal calves of which there was a small entry, sold at Gs to 60s, according: to size and quality. STORE CATTLE. Beyond a line of yearlings and a number of old cows, there wore only odd lots in the store cattle pens. 'The yearlings brought 37s ; fifteen to eight-een-month sorts, £3 ss; two-year steers £4 10s, and dry cows £2 -5s to £4 10s. DAIRY COWS. There was a good yarding of dairy cows, and a keen demand for the better sorts, sales Inking place at £5 to £ll os. PIGS. There was a large entry of fat pigs, the rough change in the weator causing the farmers and dealers to send in all that wore fit for market. The competition was therefore, not so keen, and prices were easier. Choppers sold at GOs to 91s, large baconors GOs to 71s, lighter 60s to 555, equal to 5d to 5Jd per lb; largo porkers 40s to 455, smaller 32s fid to 37s Cd, equal to 5-J-d per lb. There was only a small entry of store pigs, and there was only a moderate demand. There wore no largo sorts in, and medium made 27s fid to 335, smaller 17s to 225, and a few pens o c woanors at 12s to 14s.
