'THE POSITION OF BRITAIN’S AMBASSADOR. ‘•MERELY AN ADJUNCT TO UNITED STATES.” PERM ASSOCIATION. —COPYRIGHT.] LONDON, May 3. In the House of Commons a notice of motion has been given of a question asking whether the Rt. Hon. James Bryce, British Ambassador to the United States, was aware of President Taft’s inteniton to make Canada merely an adjunct to the United States, when ho recommended the acceptance of reciprocity. "The Evening News,” repeating current reports, suggests that Mr Bryce’s departure to Australia is a prelude to hi. accepting a Peerage, also his reentering British politics. The paper states that Mr. Bryce's position is impossible, since the failure of the Reciprocity Treaty. The ‘ Evening News” also declares that three-quarters of Mr. Bryce’s time was occupied with Canadian affairs.
