A SENSATIONAL DUEL.

— A LOAN AND ITS TEAGIO UPSHOT. BEELIN, June 7. The story of a sensational duel in which the principals were two army officers, Captain Von Garron and Baron Oswald von Eichthofer, just leaked out.

The Baron, it seems, was in temporary difficulties and sought a. loan from Von Garron. The latter advanced him £2OOO, for which he accepted his friend’s promissory note, remarking that this was merely a “’matter of form.” The story got abroad, and Von Garron found himself boycotted by his comrades.

A few days ago, while dining in a restaurant, he met the Baron, and struck him violently in the face. Such an indignity as that, of course, could have only one result, and the duel that was promptly arranged, came off on Saturday. The conditions of the combat were that the adversaries were to fight with revolvers at 15 paces, and that it was to be a duel to the death.

Several shots were exchanged, unti finally Von Garron fell mortally wounded and died within a few hours.
