LESSONS IN TIMARU. [PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT. | TIMARU, April, 20. Arrangements have been completed for Ministers to give liible lessons lasting an hour once a week in each of the three town school from 9 to 9.30 a.m. It is explained that “the explanation by the visiting teacher is to he that which is necessary to make a passage clear to the children, and no sectarian teaching of any kind is to be given.” For the present year the lessons are to be given from the Gospel of St. Mark. Parents are to notify the headmasters if they object and secular lessons will be provided instead during the half-hour. AN OPPONENT.
TIMARU, April, 20. The Rev. Mr. Chappie the Timaru Unitarian Minister, is issuing a report of his Sunday address against the giving of bible lessons in the schools of Timaru.
