In the afternoon ho unveils the Seddon memorial, and in the evening he delivers a political address in the Princess Theatre.. His Worship the Mayor (Mr H. L. Michel, Esq.,) presiding. On Thursday morning the Premier will receive deputations on matters affecting the district. The much vexed water regulartions will be brought under the notice of the Right Hon. gentleman, and also the Hungerford bridge dispute. Our distinguished visitor is to be entertained on Thursday evening by the Hokitika Borough Council.

In connection with the Premier’s address, a late train will leave after tho speech to northern visitors to return to their homes in ‘good time. At a meeting of tho Rimu Miners’ Association last evening it was decided to ask the Premier to pay a visit of inspection to that township, when it is proposed to show the Right Hon Mr Ward over tho auriferous ground which the Toaroha Syndicate propose to work. In response to a wire from tho Hokitika Borough Council intimating their intention of banquetting Sir Joseph Ward on Thursday evening, yesterday the Mayor (Mv H. L. Michel, Esq.,) received the following wire:— H. L. Michel, Esq., Mayor, Hokitika, —I thank your councillors and self for your kind invitation for Thursday evening, which I have much pleasure in accepting.—J. G. Ward. The banquet wil be held at Keller’s Hotel, where the Premier will stay during his visit to Hokitika.
