HOKITIKA HOCKEY CLUB.

The annual mooting of the above club was held in the Aquatic Club Rooms last evening, Mr R. Dykes occupying the chair. There was a large attendance of hockey players and much enthusiasm was evidenced in the proceedings. The Secretary’s report showed —from a player’s point of view—that the past season was a very successful one. The senior teanr’s pcrformiance especially, being a very creditable one, having won the Challenge Cup three times in. succession, thus making it their own property. If last night’s meeting was any criterion the Club’s, success for the ensuing season seems assured. The minutes of the previous meeting were road and confirmed and the balance sheet 'approved. Although the balance-sheet showed a dclineiency of twelve shillings much credit is duo to the retiring secretary, Mr W. J. Kerr, for the efficient manner in which he carried out his duties. The following officers were elected :—President, Mr G. Wake (re-elected); Vice-Presi-dents, Messrs Dykes, Folley, Kerr, Sherman (re-elected), J. J. Macandrew and S. J. Preston; Captain, A. Folley; Vice-Captain, G. D. Wilson (re-elec-ted) ; Secretary and Treasurer, J. Mackay; General Committee, Messrs 8011, Orr, Walker, and H. Wild; Selection Committee, Wilson, Walker and Kerr ; Delegates to the West Coast Hockey Association, Messrs Heaphy, Folley and Kerr. The retiring delegate, Mr B. Dykes declining nomination, a hearty vote of thanks was passed to him

for past services. The action of the retiring secretary in forwarding a letter of condolence to the relatives of the late Mr W. H. Winterburn (a former prominent member of the club) was endorsed. The opening day of the season was fixed for Saturday, April 9th .

The trophies presenijed by Messrs Wake and Fair were awarded to Messrs Mackay and Bell, the most consistent attendees at practice. The following new members were elected—Messrs Bateman, Good, J. Stewart, Newson, S, Preston, and R. Fisher,

A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the Aquatic and Cycling Club for the use of their rooms and the usual vote of thanks to the chair terminated the meeting.
