The cricket match, Australia v. Manawatn, was continued to-day. Kelle way and Emery (the not out men) faced the bowling of Greer and Cobbe. Emery and Simpson were quickly dismissed. The visitors commenced by bowling soft stuff from Hopkins and Warne, but as time was getting short Whitty and Emery took the leather and Manawatn were dismissed for 113, Australia winning by an innings and 104 runs. The cricket match played on Cass Square yesterday between the Hokitika juniors and Cobden resulted in an easy win for Cobden by an innings and sixruns. Hokitika went in first and made 65, of which score H. Wild contributed 25, McGlashan with 3 for 1 and Glen 2 for 7 being the best bowlers. Cobden went in and made 135 Barlow making the fine score of 62. The only other batsman to reach double figures were D. and F. Hughes, each scoring 14. Richardson was the most successful bowler with 4 for 32. Barlow (who, by the way plays senior and is a West Coast rep., played with Cobden as they were short of a team) completely settled the local bowling with his fine batting.
