New Yohk, July 26 A curious oonfliut b*a ariseu bbtween the Federal authorities and the State of North Carolina, the outcome ot which may be serious.
The Governor of the State refuses to obey a ruling of the feder 1 Circuit Oouit which is to the effect tuas the law of the State io regard to tbe railway rate is unconstitutional. Ha rejects all con.premue until the lav is complied with by the railway companies.
The action of tbe Governor is widely condemned by tbe press
It is feared tint there will be a aeriom conflict between the Sfcite and tha Federal authorities, involving even tie nse of Federal troopi to enforce ths. Court's judgment.
