OBITUARY.

Sydney, Ju)j 25 • The death took place in Sydney to* day or Mr D. Mitchell, a well-known public benefactor. Mr Mitchell was the donor to the State of the famous Mitchell Library here. It comprises the most complete collection of Australian and Oceanic literature in existence: and is priceless.

In addition to donating the library,, the late Mr Mitchell left £70,000 to endow it.
