HOKITIKA MUNICIPAL ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY

(To the Editor.)

Sir,— The reading of your reports of the meetings of the Hokitika Borough Council have recently afforded tbe residents of this town a lot of innocent amusement, I beg to suzgett tbat His Worship the Mayor (Mr Maudl) be invited to come herd and hi ing the performing mrmbeis of tbe Council, bold a meeting and charge for admission. I am sure there would be a large attendance and some of our local institutions would be financially benefited.

I might also suggest as Hokitika has not yet decided upon tbe aource from which it intends taking the water supply (if it ever does get a water supply) the Council might, when here, consider the advisability of extending the Ross water mains along the railway reserve from here to Hokitika, the distance from the Robs boundary to tbe Hokitika boundary is less than 13 miles and by bringing water this route tbe portion of Hokitijf » on the south side of the rivar would also be supplied with the pure water from Donneiy'a meandering creek. Hoping that these suggestions will commend themselves to the careful consideration of the Mayor and Councillors of Hokitika.

I am, etc.,

Simon Pure.
