Comparison of Colour. If you were asked the question, "Is there any difference in the colour of the various brands of laundry blue on the market?" your answer would probably be " No ! there isn't 1" and you would be quite wrong, for there is a difference. "Royal Blue," or "Empire Blue," As it is more familiarly called, is not so dark as the others. The accuracy of this statement can be easily proved. Compare a nob of " Empire Blue " with 8 nob of any other brand, and you will readly see that "Empire Blue" is of a lighter colour. If you moisten " Empire Blue " with a drop of water, it will look just as dark as the ether. Th= difference in colour is easily explained : " Empire Blue" contains less moisture and less foreign matter than the others — it is purer and Incrcfore possesses greater bleaching properties.
