A DENIAL

Chbjstchurch, Jan 29 The following paragraph has appeared in the public prints of th« colony :— "lt is rumoured that Mr Mclntoeh, general manager of the Bank of New Zealand, is severing bis connection with the Bank owing to fonae difforencs of opinion with respect to the Government Banking account." Malet, for himself and his colleagues, emphatically deuiet tho luaioua circulated as above as to the resignation of Mr Mclntosb being caused or brought about through any difference of opinion respecting the Government account*. The Premier dpniea that Mr Macintosh General Manager of the Bank of New Z alnnd is leaving the institution owing to a difference of opinion concerning the Government's banking account.
