THE RECENT TRAM ACCIDENT AT AUCKLAND.

An inquest concerning the recent col lision between a bus and tram waa concluded to day, the jury returning the following verdict :—": — " Mrs Foster met her death through injuries received in a collision between a tram and a bus ; the former was goiug at such a rate of speed that, the moterraan was unable to stop the car in time to avert an accident ; tbe bus driver should have taken more precau-' tion before crossing tho line. Riders were added to the effect that the bye laws rela'ing to vehicle traffic should be enforced on tho trams ; that motormen should pass an examination other than that by the Company's officer*} ; that someone should be appointed by the Couucil to see that the speod does not endanger the lives of the public ; that a Royal Commission be set up to enquire into iho entiro working of tho tramway system.
