Mr Seddon congratulated tha K : .nq on his recovery and presented the New Zealand Executives, illuminated addresses, greenstone and gold casket from his constituents in Weatland, also Maori pataki and addresses in Maori from Mahuti.
The King admited the gifts and expressed* pleasure at receiving acceptable reminders from New Zealand He cousidered the pataki* unique. Replies will be sent to the donors, The King had a long conversation and complimented Mr Seddon on the appearance of the New Zealand Boldiers, remarking they fought very well in Sou oh Africa. He admired the physique of the Maoris.
The Sovereigns and the Piince o*. Wales expressed pleasure at Mrs Seddon's recovery, The Prince and Princess of Wales, made many inquiries with regard to New Zealand, that most unique and interesting of colonies. He was always speaking about it. The King was exceedingly complimentary to Barton and the Australians whose bravery was as conspicuous as their loyalty.
