Rally for at Mahals REVELL STREET. The Southland Times of June the 7th 1889, says • — " Some people insist strongly at times upon everybody else patronising local industries, whether the commodity in view be dearer than the imported article or not. It is a patriotic duty, &c, &c. But it may be doubted whether such advisers always follow their own counsel when a shilling may be' saved by suppressing their principles. Happily there are many instances in which it is perfectly safe to give such advice, even on tbe score of economy. A case in point occurs to us. Mk Gawne, of Dunedin, has for some time past been manufacturing an oxc-lleut sauce intended to supply the p. ace of the famous ' Worcester ' of Lea andPerrin'a. Mr Gawne's product goes under the same name, and is got up in precisely the same style, and iv every respect it is so like the original that it may be doubted whether the most delicate palate and the most experienced eye could detect a difference. The Sauce has now been introduced to this market, and as it is only about half the price of the English make, it should uhdouD'tVdly command a large sale." — Advt. .
