tPKR United Press Association], Wellington, July 21 No replies have been received from members of the Furniture Trade and it has been decided to invoke the aid of the Conciliation Board in settling the dispute. Delegates from the Trades Council assured the men the Council would do its best to help them and would stand or fall by them. It is stated one firm dismissed their men and replaced them with non-unionists. Another employer's hands have returned to work as non-unionists ; a third employer is willing to allow his men to resume work as non-unionists.

The Tutanekai will probably leave for Sydney to-morrow to bring Lord Ranfurly^to Wellington. Mr A. G. Johnston, who is marshal in charge of arrangements for welcoming the Inew Governor, proposes to have every available steamer at the Heads on the return of the Tutanekai. These will be crowded with citizens and the vessels will escort tho Governor to the- wharf. On lauding a procession consisting of all societies, Volunteers, etc., being formed, will parade the principal streets to Parlianr ent House grounds', where tie Governor will be sworn in.

The weather continues wet and is much' colder than hitherto. Last night was the first for ten successive nights that rain did not fall but it set in again this morning. '

The Tutanekai will leave for Sydney to-night and bring over the Governor, On the last occasion Sir P. Buckley went over to welcome Lord Glasgow on behalf of the Ministry but this time no member of the Government can get away. The hands employed by one of the firms in connection with the furniture, dispute have all gone back, 35 in number, as non-unionists.
