Wellington, Dec 3. The match was resumed at 10.50 with a strong wind and the wicket bumping a good deal. Cuff, after being missed in the first over, hit up 46, including seven tours, and the first wicket fell iv Auckland's second innings at 64. After that the bowling got the upper hand and Ball was the only one to score freely, making 30. The total was 142. G. Mills, 18 ; Neill, 13 ; Wyßyard, 12. "Warren took 3 wickets for 11 runs and Hales 3 for 30. "Wellington, with 215 to ge,t, made a good start, Holdship and Warren taking the total to 69 before the second wicket fell; the latter made 31 and the captain continued to score freely till he was caught in the slips for 52. Five wickets produced 128, but the remainder col-
lapsed, Aeui*^- Hawkins bowling trith 'effect, and the total only readied 152. The oilier scorers weie K. Tucker, 23 ; Hales, 14 ; fioldsworth, 13. Auckland thus won by 62 runs.
