A BOOKMAKER IN TROUBLE.

Wellington, January 20.

Leseur, tbe bookmaker, is again in trouble, having used threatening and -indecent language to Mr Goldsmith, formerly secretary of the Island Bay Racing Club, in the telegraph office on Monday. Leseur apologised to Goldsmith and handed in a cheque of five guineas towards the Stratford relief fund. It was then supposed tbe case would drop, but as the affair is one which affects public^jnorality, the police intend to prosecute, and fresh informations will be laid against Leseur. It will be remembered Leseur had a quarrel at the Otahuhu races, in Auckland, some weeks since, and in which he got considerably the worst of it.
