Many Turkish ladies have of late years adopted Western fashions of dress, and worse still, have dispensed altogether with the veil, which, according to the 24th chapter of the Koran, ought to be worn by every Mussulman woman.
Mr Dion Boucicault has added to his list of plays yet another, called " The Nine Lives of Fin MacCoul," with which its prolific author means to lead off in a season of Irish dramas next year.
'[ The Man," a curious New York publication,, demands that all women, on arriving at the age of 21, be permitted to use the prefix "Mrs" to their names whether married or not.
It is proposed to construct a glaciarium in London, with a superficial area of real ice large enough to enable two sets of e-ght to skate the combined figures.
