AUCKLAND NEWS.
Auckland, April 11.
Two railway employes named Grey and Jolly, were shooting in Waikato, when Grey sighting some game stood up to fire. The boat in which they were, lurched, and the gun exploding discharged its contents, blowing away the back of Jolly's head and killing him instantly.
In the Police Court t9-day, W. L. Rees, solicitor, Gisborne, commenced a series of criminal prosecutions for libel against J. D. Wickham, of the Free Lance. Defendant asked for an adjournment which was granted till Thursday.
