WRITTEN TENDERS will be received at the District Engineer'! Office, Hokitika, up to Noon on TUBSDAY, 24th July, 1877, for the construction of section No. 5, of the Bowen— Okarito Road (north end,) They must be addressed to the Hon. tbe Minister for Public Works, and marked outside "Tender for construction of section No. 5, Bowen— Okarito Road (north end.") Plans and specifications may be seen at the Public Work's Office, Hokitika, and at the Court House, Ross. Each tender must be sent in with % properly filled in schedule, and on the printed form, which will be supplied on application. The lowest or any tender will n«t necessarily be accepted. SEAT, ED Tenders will be received at the General Post Office, Wellington, until NOON of SATURDAY, the 21>t JULY nexf, for the performance during a period of twelve months, commencing from a date hereafter to be fixed, by the Post* master-General, of any of the undermentioned steam services, viz. : — 1. Between Nelson, Westport, Grey- ) mouth, and Hokitika, and vice versa, onct { every four weeks. ) 2. Between Port Chaltnes and the West Coast ports of the Middle Island, monthly. A steamer to leave Port Chalmers once in every month, proceeding to tbe West Coast of the Middle Island, by way of Cook and Foveaux Straits, alternately. The steamer to call at Lyttelton, Picton, Nelson, Westport, Greymouth, Hokitika, and the Bluff; and also, when required, at Oamaru, Timaru, Martin's Bay, Mil ford Sound, Preservation Inlet, and Port William in Stewart's Island ; and at such other places as the Postmaster-General may from time to time direct. Tenderers should state the names, ton* nage, and horse-power of the vessels to bt employed in the service or services for which they trader. Further particulars, and terms and conditions of contract, may be obtained on applying to the General Pont Office, Wellington, or tke Post Offices at Dunedin, Cbristchurcb, Nelson, Hokitika, Greymouth, and Aatkland. ARAHURA ROAD : Supply of metal on the Arahura Road, from Thompson's Bridge to the Teremakan River. Each work to be tendered for separately.
