Notices HEMATITE PAINT. Hematite being a Peroxide of Iron, is naturally tbe best Paint that can be applied to Iron for its preservation. Paints composed of .Lead, Zinc, or Copper, should never be applied to Iron, as by galvanic action it will injure and eat into it, causing it in time to become honeycombed. This Paint will combine with the tannin, and will enter more readily into the pores of wood thau most other Paints thereby adding greatly to its preservation It can therefore be recommended as being Supebiob for the Priming of Timber as a foundation for all other Colored Paints. It will also be found to be cheaper than other paints, as it is Manufactured and Sold by JOHNSON BROTHERS for less than is charged for Lead or Zinc Paints ; and, taking weight for weight, it will cover a much larger surface.
