Notices PROSPECTUS OF THE LONG TUNNEL GOLD-MINING COMPANY, CALL ' GHAN'S, WAIMEA DISTRICT, PROVINCE OF WESTLAND. Td he Registered under" The Joint Stock I C mpanies' Act, 1860," with Limited Liabilities. Capital £5000, in 1000 shares of £5 each. Deposit of 5s per share on application, 5s per share on allotment, and any subsequent calls not to exceed 10s per month. PROVISIONAL DIRECTORS : John M'Whirter, Waimea. Joseph Beale, Waimea. Robert Atkinson, Callaghan's. bankers : Union Bank of Australia solicitor. C. E. Button. LEGAL MANAGER : F. A. Learmonth. It is proposed to form the above Company for the purpose of purchasing the mining property known as the " Enterprise Company, or " Long Tunnel Claim," Callagban's, Waimea District, at present owned and worked by nine shareholders, arrangements having been concluded with the present owners under deed that they will dispose of the claim of six acres in extent, held as a special claim, with horse, trucks, tools, forge, stable, together with all the appliances at present used in working the claim, for the sum of £1350, payable as follows : — one-third cash, and the balance of two-thirds by the Compan,'s bills at six and nine months' date respectively, which price and terms the public must consider most liberal. The reason of the present shareholders offering the claim for sale is solely on account of their not being able to agree amongst themselves, and the want of crpital to put ehe claim in thorough working order, it requiting, at the present time, an additional outlay of from £,500 to £600 j for the purchase of iron rails, trucks, erecting new dam and paddock, and putting i 1 a drive to intersect Wright's lead, known to be very rich, that runs through the eastern portion of the claim. The claim is now worked by nine men and a horse, by means of a tunnel 2300 feet in length. The gold already got out of the lead they are now working amounts to 511oz 18dwts 2grs, valued at £1948 6s. It is known that two distinct leads run through the claim, namely, Callaghan's, that they are now working, and Wright's lead. The letter lead it is proposed to work by means of a drive 450 feet long, from the main tnnnel. The whole claim is the most easily worked of any claim in the Province of Westland, and shareholders will have the advantage of buying into a property that will give immediate returns for years to come from the present lead they are now working, and which, although it has been most disadvantageously worked ibr some time past, has given a return of over £3 per man per week while woiking in the face, after paying all expenses. As showing the faith the present shareholders have in the claim and it? future prospects, it may be stated that they have \ already applied for 360 shares to be allotted to them in the proposed Company. As soon as 750 shares of the proposed capital are applied for, the Company will be registered under " The Joint Stock Companies' Act, i860," with limited liabilities, but, failing that number being applied for, all deposits received on shares will be returned in full. The Provisional Directors would impress on intending shareholders the necessity of immedißte application for shares, so that the purchase of the claim may be at once concluded, and the Company be put in possession of a claim paying good dividends for years to come. Directly the required number of 750 shares is applied for, a general meeting of the shareholders will be called, so that they may elect their directors and call for applications from competent persons to take over the management of the claim, and put the same in thorough working order by the employment of a large number of extra men, and tbe purchase of the necessary iron rails, trucks, and other requisite works to increase the present yield of gold. The returns from the claim for the past two weeks exceed twenty ounces, and intending shareholders will bear in mind that, in addition to t^e special claim of six acres above referred to, there is a large extent ot ground adjoining the same which it is confidently believed will become available, and be profitably worked. Tne capital required to be called up is not expected to exceed £2000. Printed applications for shares may be obtained from either the Provisional Directors or the undersigned, to whom all applications must be lodged. F. A.
