The R. M. Steamer Tararua sailed from Lyttel:Cn for Wellington yesterday, at 3.50 p.m., :md most likely arrived there this morning. She is announced to leave, with the English mail, on the 25th inst. ■ The s.s. Kangitoto, from ''Melbourne," was fully looked for l;ist night, but, up to the hour o:: going to press, she had not put in an appearance. 'We notice by advertisement that she is announced to saiT for northern ports tp-morrow, making Wellington her first port of 'call, where she tranships Auckland passengers. The s.s. W-ipara left the wharf this morning "for" a trip to the Grey. She returns direct with the Isabella in tow^ It was reported last night ' that a ship's light was discernible in the roadstead, but our reporter on reaching the beach could not discover it. ' ' ". "' The fine little schooner Three iJJriends arrived in the port on yesterday's tide. She left this port for a port south a few days ago, and took a cargo, of timber,' which she has safely and quickly delivered. The s.s. Murray arrived alongside' the vrharf this morning, but made a short stay in port, leaving again on the same tide. She sailed again from Nelson on Tuesday, at 2 p.m., and arrived at Westport at 9.30 a.m. on Wednesday ; discharged 30. tons of cargo and four race horses. Left there last night atmidn'ght, arrived in this roadstead at 9 a.m., and crossed the bar as above.
