At the last Hospital Committee meeting, present — Messrs Aylnier (president), Malfroy, Hill, Cooper, Harris, Gaffnej r , Hutten, and Lewis. The minutes of tbe previous meeting were read and confirmed. The '* following accounts were pasted for payment: — Forsyth and Masters, £5 10s; R. Stevens, £l ; Falvey, 16s; Donnelly, £1 10s 6(1 ; Coop,-£l2. Receipts for the fortnight, including proceeds of lecture and concert. £23 14s. The secretary was instructed to wait on the manager of the Bank of New Zealand to request an overdraft to pay amount of cheques. The secretary was instructed to write to the County Chairman respecting subsidies, urging immediate remittance to meet the present quarter's accounts. Messrs Aylmer, IHU, Cooper, Malfroy, and Harris, were appointed a sub-committee to meet the deputation from llokitika, respecting payment for patients going from this district to the Hokitika Hospital. The meeting then adjenrned till the 29th inst.. On Friday morning, a poor fellow, named Charles Allen was found dead in his hut,- * at Donoghue's. An inque-t was held before Justin Aylnier, coroner, and a jury, of whom John M' berry was foumart, and from the evidence of several tyitnesse c , supporttd by tbat of Dr W. H.
