Drunk and Incapable! — James Bowen was for this offence fined lOs^or in default of payment twenty-four hours' imprisonment. '

Breach of the Diseased Cattle Obdijtance. — William Allan was charged, ou the information, of Charles Towuley Browne that he did, on or about the '20th day of August, from an infected district, namely, the district of the Hurunui, import, drive, and remove fifty-three head of cattle into the County of Wcst'.and, contrary to the provisions of the Diseased Cattle Act, 1861. Mr Harvey for defendant. — Mr Browning produced a map, on which he pointed out the boundary of the infected district. — Detective Browne deposed that he went a mile and a half above the TaipoonTue day the 25th inst., and there saw defendant and Robert Steadman in charge of the mob of cattle. — Inspector Broham expressed au opinion .that it would be impossible to drive cattle from the Province of Nelson without crossing the Terematau Saddle and coming into the County of Westland, in consequence of the thickly wooded gtate of the north-west side of the Hurunui River ; but afterwards remembered that there was a track near Lake Brunner. Robert Steadman was then sworn, but upon being asked if he had seen defendant driving cattle across the saddle declined, upon the advice of Mr Harvey, to answer, as he was driving with defendant, and an information might be laid against hira, in which, his Worship supported him. — Inspector Broham said that if that were the case he would have to relinquish the charge. — His Worship therefore dismissed the information.

Gloss v. Selby — In this case his Wot* ship who had reserved judgment from yesterday, gave it for the plaintiff for amount claimed, £32 with costs.

The Court then adjourned till 11 o'clock next day.
