J3.re.icii of Westund Polics Obdinaxce. — J. C. llichinond, on remand, was charged with allowing the chimney of his house to iguite. Captain Macfarlane proved that the chimney was on fire. Defendant stated that the chimuey was far from beinpj foul, as it had been swept only a short time before. His Worship dismissed the information. CIVIL CASEd. Young v. Campbell. — A claim for £13 135., for professional services rendered. Judgment by default. Young v. Stock. — A claim for £5. Judgment by default. liamagc v. Clevc. — This was an action to recover £15 Bs, for two suits of clothes alleged to have been supplied by plaintiff to defendant. — Mi* Harvey, for the defen(l'int, called tho attention of the Court to the fact that Mr Alfred Cleve had executed a deed of assignment for the benefit of creditors, and therefore plaintiff could only take his judgment, but execution could not issue— Plaiutiff; in examination by Mr Harvey, acknowledged that one ol tiie suits of clothes had been supplied to defendant's brother, and that the promise of Mr Alfred Cleve to pay was given after the clothes were delivered.-Judgment for £7 Us. ,tt i i a i • South v.
