ARAHURA ROAD BOARD.

(PBOlt OUE OWN COEBESPONDENX.) August 14th. The meeting to be held this day lapsed, a quorum not being present. Messrs Beale and Molloy present. The meeting was adjourned to next day, afc 11 o'clock. August loth. ~ A meeting was held this day, at the office of the Board. Present — Mr Hannan (in the chair), Messrs Molloy and Owen. The minutes of last meeting wf re read and confirmed. The tenders for contract No. 16, for clearing the middle branch of Waimea Creek, were opened, viz. : — j Patrick Fox, £22 15s, accepted. M. Murphy, £35. E. L. Grant, £76/ Contract No. 17, making 10 chains 33ft. of new track to Greek's No. 1 : — M. Murphy, £40, accepted. P. Fox, £47 3 Bs. E. L. Grant, £76. A letter was received front the Grey Eoad Board, refusing to bear half of the subsidy for the upper Ferry, Teremakau.A letter was received irom the Xanieri Koad Board, asking for a copy of the Standing Orders. Tenders were received from Messrs Harnett and Co., and Brown and Klein, for the printing and advertising of the Board. The secretary was instructed to reply to the Kanieri Eoad Board, and say that a copy of the Standing Orders will be supplied as soon as printed. The secretary was instructed to inform D. Hughes of letter received from the Grey Eoad Board, and to say that, in consequence, this Board declines to grant subsidy. The Board then adjourned to Friday next, 21bt instant.
