OIR— We, the undersigned, electors of the Electoral District of Hokitika, respectfully request you to allow yourself to be placed in nomination as a candidate for the representation of the town in the County Council of Westland. As a citizen largely interested in the commercial prosperity of the district, having long devoted your attention to public objects, and having lately been elected to the office of Mayor by your i ellow- townsmen, we believe you to be well qualified to represent Hokitika in .he new County Council, and will have tnuch pleasure in according you our support. I am proud of having been one of the foremost in procuring for Westland the advantages of local government, and, if elected, you may depend upon my best exertijns to realise all the advantages that ought to accrue from it.
