Businesi has improved during tho past week but with littlo alteration in prices. Wo cannot quote any improvement in the flour market, several parcola having been offerod by auction; and withdrawn, the trade only purchasing, as they have been doing for some Mime past, for present consumption. First Adelaide is held for L 33 per ton ; Chilian, L2O.

Oats are in better demand, and prices have slightly improved ou our last quotations. Chaff has been sold at L 23 per ten Bran is saleable, at 3s per bushel.

Hams and bacon aro enquired for, and still maintain good prices, the supply being limited. Sinclair's and Cony'a are worth, for hams, Is lOd per lb. ; for baoon, Is 8d per lb. ; good colonial bacon and hams have been placed nt Is Sd and Is 4d per lb. Butter has come to hand in considevablo quantities from the neighboring provinces aud Austral! i. Primo new is saleable at Is 9d to 2s per lb. ; for Cork butter there is no demand. Cheese still continues scarce, at, for beat Ungliah, Is lOd to 2s per lb. ; good colonial Is fid to Is 7d per lb.

Wines inut spirits have hud an improved demand, but price.i have not altered from our last quotations. Bo .lied al<? and portor have not altered in price since our lust ; best brands, ISs to 20s per dozen.

Groceries, oilmen's stores, nnd dried fruits arc saleable at prices favorable to iuipoiters.
